The Hills Aktion Club: A Service Club for people with Intellectual Disabilities; formed in June 1993. This was the first Aktion Club to be formed in Australia. Currently still going strong:
The Aktion Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month, at 7pm, at the Mount Barker Community Centre.

The Hills Aktion Club held their Xmas break up on Sunday the 8th of December 2024 at Hahndorf. Members pictured above with the Xmas food items collected with the help of the Adelaide Hills and Murray Bridge Kiwanis Clubs. All the food together with $115 cash was delivered by Chris Hart to Foodbank to help support needy families at Christmas: THANKYOU.
Community Project: On Sunday June 9th, several AKtion Club Members helped with tree and shrub planting at Mt Barker South Primary School. As part of the school’s Aboriginal Studies programme, a “Yarning Circle” has been built and the plants are to be located around this feature. Many Thanks to our Kiwanis organisers Jane Jenkins, & Merv, plus Kiwanis Members Chris Hart & Ash.

The Hills Aktion Club Cleanup Australia Day was held this year on Sunday the 3rd of March 2024 again on the walking and bicycle trails down to the Laratinga Wetlands with members below doing a great job before heading to Hahndorf for a BBQ lunch.
